The Soil is Poisoned!

About the project

Creative Roots was invited to design a playground for the Copenhagen Play Festival wOOt under the Street Games category. As landscape architects, we used our design skills to create a playground made of recycled materials, including some of our pop-up gardens as part of the design.

The idea was to create a video game in human scale, with three different levels. Inspired by the polluted site of the festival, the name of the game was “The Soil is Poisoned”. The players had to cross the site without touching the groud to be able to join a garden.

The wOOt festival is Copenhagen’s festival for games and play, taking place in the city’s public spaces and inviting everyone – kids and adults, to play together during a weekend. The Festival presents a diversity of games, included players of all ages, within diverse categories: Street Games, Kids Games, Gaming Workshop, Board Games and Game Talks.
